Thursday evenings this spring from April 9th to May 14th, join us in the embodied research practice that we call "training." This training sequence focuses on exploring the embodied voice and traditional songs of the British Isles and Appalachia. During this drop-in three-week series we will share our physical and improvisational approach to vocal work along with our ongoing group singing practice. Participants will experience the vibratory and resonant qualities of the voice, discover ways to open up their expressive possibilities through the body, and practice deep listening through work on folk songs and songs from one’s personal tradition. All experience levels welcome, ages 18+. Sliding scale from $10-$50 per session. Questions? Want to RSVP? Reach out!
Join us on Monday evenings 7-9pm as well for the other half of our spring training series: Poetics (of Performance)!
