Join renowned jitter and B-boy Haleem “Strings” Rasul for an introduction to Detroit’s original dance. Detroit native Stringz, founder of Hardcore Detroit, is a multifaceted artist—dancer, choreographer, and educator. With expertise in the city’s signature Jit style, he directed the acclaimed film The Jitterbugs: Pioneers of the Jit.

In this class, participants will be introduced to the Detroit-born dance style known as the Jit. We’ll begin with a follow-the-leader warm-up using foundational movements, then move into learning a few short combinations, and finish by putting everything together into a dynamic routine.
