Join us for a special performance film screening of 20th Century opera giant (and Michigan’s own) Robert Ashley’s television opera in eight parts, Perfect Lives. This stunning collaborative work about reincarnation and the American West grew out of a stage work from 1978 and is “Nothing less than the first American opera, written within an American language utilizing various American attention spans: snippets for the channel switchers, layers of meaning for the smart alecks, something for everyone, and accessible.
