I’m Not Here Right Now is a growing, collaborative catalogue of the places, internal and external, that technology is changing. It is a communal witnessing practice based in writing, conversation and performance. We live in two worlds now: our bodies, rooms, cities and towns; and the body, room, city, town of the internet. While the culture fixates on what we might lose to AI, we are busy losing it already: losing the parts of ourselves that are incompatible with constant digital connection. In this project, we go looking for those disappearing places and asks what, if anything, might be saved.
I’m Not Here Right Nowseeks participants for its inaugural working group, meeting one weeknight evening for eight weeks. This is a developmental process, rooted in inquiry and experiment. The group will culminate in an informal sharing of work. Performance experience is welcome but in no way required.
